Points Compass is an independent business. We want you to understand exactly how we may make money, so you can weigh what you read here accordingly.

How Points Compass makes money

Points Compass earns revenue in two ways:

1. App subscriptions. Points Compass Pro is an optional subscription ($4.99 per month or $39.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial for eligible accounts), billed through Apple.
2. Partner links (current or future). Some pages on this website may contain links to credit card offers or other financial products from companies we partner with, directly or through affiliate networks. Points Compass may receive compensation when you click one of these links or are approved for a product. You never pay more because you used our link.

How compensation may affect placement

Compensation from partners may influence which products appear on this website, and where and in what order they appear — for example, which card is shown in a comparison table or which offer is linked from an article. Our site does not include every company or every financial product available in the market.

Compensation does not influence:

• Our editorial content. Our educational articles are written to be accurate and useful whether or not a reader ever clicks a link. We do not accept payment to publish favorable opinions, and partners do not review or approve our articles before publication.
• The facts we report. Point valuations in our articles are cited to named, dated third-party sources (such as The Points Guy and NerdWallet), and we describe them as estimates.
• The Points Compass app. See below.

Partnerships never change the app's valuations

The Points Compass app is kept separate from any partner relationship:

• The app's cents-per-point estimates, drift and award-inflation assumptions, booking-month projections, waiting-cost figures and cash-versus-points verdicts are not adjusted, weighted or ranked based on any partnership or compensation.
• The app opens no account and moves no money.
• Every assumption in the app is visible and editable in "How this was worked out," so you can check and change the math yourself.

If a partnership ever conflicted with showing you an honest number, we would decline the partnership.

Card details and offers

Card terms — including welcome offers, earning rates, annual fees, APRs and transfer partners — are set by the issuer and change frequently. Information on this site is accurate to the best of our knowledge on the date shown on each page, but it may not reflect current terms. Always review the issuer's official terms before applying.

We make no guarantee that you will be approved for any product or that you will earn any particular bonus, reward or value. Approval decisions are made solely by the issuer, based on its own criteria. Opening a credit account may affect your credit.
